The weather was starting to warm up and we moved to Hermiston. We finally got our tax refund and a steady paycheck coming in again. We were living with the grandparents too so getting caught up on bills and saving for our own place was easier. Plus Mom had a “dream” of a place she’d like to rent so in all things were looking up!
This Week’s Thoughts
Here’s the pic Mom drew in the Journal for all of you to see:
It’s not where we lived at the time, just a place Mom thought up and drew.
The featured image this week is one I’ve wanted to use for a very long time but hadn’t been able to because the only copy of that picture is owned by Mom’s mom, Grandma Joyce. She will not give it up for any reason because it’s her favorite picture of Mom. On a recent visit to Hermiston Mat was able to get a picture of it with his iPhone. The way I remember it, Mom was about 13 when this was taken and it was taken of her while she was laying in the grass at the coast reading or writing something. I’ve always like this picture but even more so since my own daughter became a teenager. She looks and acts A LOT like Mom and I am thankful that her and my son were able to spend time with her the last two years of her life. They were really able to bond with her and establish memories that they’ll always be able to cherish.
Enough with the sappy stuff, we hope all of you are still enjoying the podcast and look forward to hearing from you. Enjoy!
