This week we let Mathew do the intro! Mom talked about trying to get a job at the coal fire plant and she showed off her new furniture to her friends. We got our trailer remodeled with some loan money and Mom bought us school clothes. This was because Phillip started first grade and Mat started Kindergarten. We also got a new puppy, for a little while anyway, and Mom had some fun with cigarette loads.
This Week’s Thoughts
So I’ve fallen a bit behind on the posts. This one is for Episode 82 that posted on December 12th, I guess that’s more than a bit. I’m going to be working on the rest of these over the next few days and will (hopefully) get them all done before Episode 87 posts next week. As for the episode, Mathew gets a little mic time! He is thinking of putting out his own podcast but he hasn’t decided on a subject yet. He knows a lot of things about a lot of stuff, I guess that’s where the indecision comes from. Anyway, I figured he could use the practice. In 1981 Mom got new furniture and remodeled the trailer. I remember going through all of this and how happy Mom was to be “upgrading” her life. She didn’t mention it but there was some drama with the original furniture purchase. The way I remember it, she as told the fabric would be easy to clean, even with as dirty as “R” got paving but that turned out to be untrue so she returned it and got a different set of furniture. That set she kept for several years, up through Mat and I being in high school at least. Well, the couch, loveseat and at least one lamp anyway. The rest were sold off piece by piece to pay for bills, food or other necessities along the way. Other big changes were Mat and I going to school and a new puppy. Well, that’s it for this episode! I’ll talk to all of you on the next one. Enjoy!
